Why Yor Yak?
Our brand was born from our passion for Muay Thai, a martial art also known as the most powerful and dangerous one in the world.
Yak or Yaksha are mythological giants found in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. In Thailand, Yak (ยักษ์) are often seen standing tall at the gates of sacred temples — the most famous being the massive guardians at Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) in Bangkok.
They are often portrayed with:
👹 Fierce faces with fangs and wide eyes;
🎨 Bright-colored skin (green, red, blue, or gold);
⚔️ Weapons and armour;
🕉️ Deep spiritual presence;
While Yak are not directly part of Muay Thai techniques, their symbolism fits perfectly into the world of combat sports:
✅ Strength & Ferocity
"Yak" are known for their massive power and unshakable presence — the same qualities that every fighter trains to embody inside the ring.
✅ Spiritual Protection
Just like they guard temple gates, Yaks can be seen as protectors of the fighter's body, mind, and spirit during the chaos of battle.
✅ Connection to Thai Identity
wearing the image of the Yak proudly honours the deep cultural and spiritual roots of Thailand — it says: “I fight with tradition behind me.”
🔥 Yoryak Fightwear: Embrace the Giant
Our ideology about Muaythai is perfectly in line with the "Yak".
Definitely, the "Yak" have a good soul, but being a guardian has the duty to preserve goodness and prevent evil from approaching at any cost.
At Yoryak Fightwear, the Yak is more than a logo — it’s a symbol of what we believe Muay Thai represents:
🧠 Discipline and mental power;
🛡️ Honor and protection;
💥 Raw fighting strength;
🇹🇭 Deep Thai heritage;
Last but not least, ยยักษ์ (yor yak) is also used as an illustration in order to name the letter "ย" the 34th consonant of the Thai alphabet, according to the traditional letter symbols Thai children use to memorize the alphabet.
Whether you’re stepping into the ring, training at your gym, or representing your love for Thai culture, the spirit of the Yak is with you.
It is the explanation of our logo, we hope you enjoyed it.
